Chalk up another victory for Akshay Kumar.
Akshay Kumar fans have got two reasons to celebrate on this Independence Day.
Firstly, Akshay Kumar just announced this exciting news that he will be collaborating with his favourite director, Neeraj Pandey for the third time in an interestingly named Crack. We are quite geared up on hearing this piece of news, since Akshay - Neeraj combo has given us memorable films in Special 26 and Baby.
Now for the second good news, Akshay Kumar's latest film Rustom (which is co-produced by Akshay and Neeraj, what a dream combo) has worked magic at the box office, once again. As per the latest tweet by eminent trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film raked in Rs 19.88 crores on Sunday, thus bringing its total to a superb Rs 50.42 crores. Here's what he said, "Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 16.43 cr, Sun 19.88 cr. Total: ₹ 50.42 cr. India biz. TERRIFIC!"
Taran also mentioned that the film will also improve its collections on Independence Day. National holidays have always been special for Akshay Kumar, and Rustom has strains of patriotism in it.
On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is way behind Rustom, grossing just Rs 30.54 crores in three days. Also, the production costs of the film are comparatively higher than that of Rustom, so it needs to do really tough business to break even.
Here are Taran Adarsh's tweets,
Even overseas, the film is doing good business. Akshay Kumar has proven once again that he is the most bankable star in the industry, despite having multiple releases this year. What say?
