This film will make the actor really proud...
Akshay Kumar started the year with a thunderous reception with Airlift. The film went bigger everyday thanks to its stellar content and some spectacular performances by the actor and the cast. The story of mass evacuation that India carried out in the wake of Saddam Hussein invading Kuwait to get Indians safely home was unknown to many. The film instilled a sense of pride in many Indians who till recently were just dissing the country. No wonder the film went so big. Now Rustom is heading in the same direction, only in a much faster pace. In one week, the film has earned Rs. 90. 90 crore at the box office which is highest first week collection for Akshay Kumar ever.
First of all, check out the numbers that the film has made in last one week. Taran Adarsh shared the numbers saying, "#Rustom Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 16.43 cr, Sun 19.88 cr, Mon 17.81 cr, Tue 7.67 cr, Wed 6.38 cr, Thu 8.62 cr. Total: ₹ 90.90 cr. India biz." In its first weekend, it earned over 68 crore which is humongous. The fact that Monday was a holiday thanks to Independence Day, the film earned a massive 17. 81 crore which is the highest first Monday collection of this year. Even Salman Khan's Sultan couldn't stand in front of it.
Now with 90. 90 cr on week 1, it has become Akshay's highest first week grosser after Airlift (83.50 cr), Singh is Bliing (77.6 cr) and others. 100 crore isn't far and we are pretty sure this weekend, it will even accomplish that very easily. Check out the tweet once more
