It's not just India that the film has won over...
Rustom is only getting bigger. Akshay Kumar's presence in a film which recounts the highly publicised Nanavati Case of the 50s has made everyone its fan. It has emerged as the audience's first choice in its clash with Mohenjo Daro. Hrithik Roshan's film has almost lost the battle. After earning 68. 28 cr at the domestic market till last count, it's overseas total has made it even bigger. In four days, the film earned $ 3. 03 mn (Rs. 20. 27 cr).
Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and exulted, " is EXCELLENT Overseas... Collects $ 3.03 million [₹ 20.27 cr] in its first 4 days." We already told you how Rustom became Akshay's second highest opener in UAE by earning AED 1 mn on Thursday which increased to AED 1. 3 mn on Friday. That had set the tune for the film to earn even more. The first Monday collection of the film which rests at 17. 81 crore is more than even the highest grossing film of 2016, Salman Khan's Sultan (15. 54 cr). Clearly, the film is set for some more money which will be added to the tally.
With the way Rustom is going, it will close the first week on a huge high. It will be able to post nearly 80 cr on its first week and culminate the second weekend with 100 crore in its kitty. Yet again, an Akshay Kumar film will manage to make everyone associated with his film happy. Since his films are made on controlled budget, the returns have always left people cash rich even if the film wrapped up with not-so good numbers. Rustom definitely will be one of his profitable films.
