Take a look at the highlights of event!
Walking like a serenade on the red carpet were major fashionistas of the tinsel town coming under one roof for a fashion night out. The celebs big or small chirped around, talked business and gulped fine wine while looking like a million dollars. Among the known faces was Dia Mirza, Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani accompanied by his wife and Kabir Bedi.
The ecstatic evening set in the backdrop of pre and post independence saw the modernity in designs by Shantanu-Nikhil, who also received standing ovation for their pre-independence collection. From Nehru like bandhgala’s to Jinnah caps, the show took us back in time with its ethereal line of clothes.
#Mixing Music and Fashion
Music and Fashion are two things that go hand in hand. Playing on the same lines designers Shantanu and Nikhil had Indian classical musicians as their show stoppers. Wow and how! Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan’s stage presence was not only stunner but a good one at that.
#Chote Nawab, Kunal Kapoor and all that jazz
When the word of Saif Ali Khan being in the same vicinity as ours spread, every eyeball was set on the entry and exit gates of the venue. While he managed to trick his well wishers and sneak in the hotel, we came to know that the actor was in a rush. As soon as he walked the ramp looking dapper for designer Raghuvendra Rathore, the actor did not even pause for the post show press conference. We wonder what made him come and go in blink of an eye.
Kunal Kapoor on the other hand looked calm and at ease with himself. The actor waited for his turn for the press conference like a true gentleman however he late made a slight mistake. When asked about the event’s main theme ‘power dressing’, the actor had an unusual response. “Well honeslty I don’t know what power dressing means. I just know that good clothes or bad clothes when I see them and I just know that these are great clothes. I think it comes on to what enhances your presence, enhancing what’s the best in you.
#Randeep’s lover boy charm
Designer Troy Costa led us to a path mostly taken in fashion shows. Strolling through the man made corners of the city of Paris was actor Randeep Hooda, whose chic and urban look compelled other men to hoot for the man. Tina Desai, whose brief stint in Bollywood was a flop show, was seen opening the show. She later stopped the show walking hand in hand with Randeep. The two looked gorgeous in a well cut suit with a slight hint of texture and patterns. Randeep’s latest outing was a hit among masses and he will soon be seen in with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Sarabjit’s biopic.
#Standing ovation: Trick or Treat?
News of the Shantanu Nikhil’s show receiving standing ovation spread like a wild fire on the internet today morning. However the show had a section towards the end where they played national anthem that eventually led everyone on their feet. Although the contemporary styling of the modern day man paired with a colonial blend of British India worked wonders, we wonder if the standing ovation was a treat for them or a trick for us, the spectators.
