Taare Zameen Par, the heartwrenching story of an eight-year-old boy Ishaan (played by Darsheel Safary), a dyslexic child and his new teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (played by Aamir Khan), helping him to overcome his reading disorder, had moved everyone to the core. The 2007 film won several accolades and appreciation from the audience and critics alike. However, the infamous feud that arose between Aamir and Amole Gupte over the film's director's credits had grabbed all the wrong attention. After almost 14 years, Amole has again opened up about the incident which seems still fresh in his heart and mind like an open wound.
It will give you Aamir Khan's name if you look for the director of Taare Zameen Par. For the uninitiated, Amole Gupte was the original director of the film. Due to the creative differences, Aamir took over the direction mid-way while Amole settled for the writer and creative director's credit.
"Time flies, my friend, and you need not fear because there is always a sunrise after a sunset. It doesn't daunt me at all. I am genuinely not a person who sits wallowing in anguish. I take the day by its horns, like a bull, and see what the new day has for me. Therefore, I was able to practice my art form, which is cinema. Well, I survived time. It has been 14 years,” Amole told Bollywood Bubble when asked about his fallout with Aamir.
When Amole was asked if the industry people went against him for taking on Aamir, the Saina director said, "Woh hota hai na, woh toh hoga hi (That does happen and will happen), of course. Who would not want to stand with Goliath? Who would stand with David? But it's okay. You find your guerilla ways of doing your warfare and see that you bring out your next baby, and your next, and your next. That is what I owe to cinema and not to anybody else.”
It remains to be seen if Aamir has anything to say about Amole's views on their infamous feud.
