The actor is stuck amidst legal trouble again!
After the his acquittal in the hit-and-run case, Salman Khan has found himself amidst fresh legal trouble which has been an ongoing debate ever since the actor’s name was highlighted in it.
On Thursday morning, Salman Khan left his Galaxy Apartments in Bandra to head to Jodhpur to record his statement in the arms act case. The actor was seen wearing his lucky color blue shirt while making his way to the airport and getting clicked by numerous shutterbugs. On March 3, the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Jodhpur district had set March 10 as date for recording of statement. The District and Session Court gave this order after rejecting an application of the defence seeking recalling of a prosecution witness for his examination.
However last year the Jodhpur court accepted Salman’s plea to produce four witnesses in the arms act case. Reportedly the Rajasthan High Court had ordered for the submission of files related to the sanction procedure for prosecution by district collector to the court. Salman even appeared in the court last year on Arpil 29 to record his statements and pleaded innocence after which the defence had moved an application seeking re-examination of 5 prosecution witnesses of the case.
The Arms Act case against Salman is an offshoot of the blackbuck poaching incident which took place 18 years ago near Jodhpur while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. A case had been registered against Salman Khan by the forest department on October 15, 1998 under Arms Act mentioning that the arms used by Khan during alleged poaching of two black bucks at village Kankani near Jodhpur on the intervening night of 1 -2 October, 1998, had their licences expired and hence he had been using those arms illegally.
