The actor was accused of poaching the endangered species in October 1998
Salman Khan was to appear in the Jodhpur court last week for recording his statement in the black buck poaching case. The actor who appeared in the court this morning claimed that he is innocent and he was framed over the illegal arms case in connection with black buck poaching. The next hearing of this case is on May 4.
Khan is accused of using an unlicensed weapon to poach two black bucks during the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's Hum Saath Saath Hai. Salman lawyer Umesh Kalla while talking to the media said, "Court asked the actor that he needs to defend himself. The actor will present his version to the court."
The animals were killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur and are an endangered species under the Wildlife Protection Act. A complaint was then filed against Salman for his involvement in hunting of the protected black bucks.
