The actor is out to help further the cause of farmers’ suicide but in a very different way…

After Dr Cabbie, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Hero, Salman Khan is all set to extend his role as a producer for television as the actor wants to bring the concept of UK’s popular reality show, The Farm to India. And given his long association with the nation’s most controversial reality show, Bigg Boss, what better channel than Colors to make his debut as a TV producer. Reportedly, the actor is in talks with Raj Nayak, the CEO of Colors, about bringing the format to India.

For the uninitiated, The Farm is a reality show much like Bigg Boss, but much less controversial. So a bunch of celebrities will be kept on a secluded farm for a pre-decided period of time and work on the farm. From sowing seeds to cutting the harvest and from feeding the live stick to milking the cows, the contestants will be made to do everything. At the end of every week, one contestant will be eliminated based on his performance and the number of votes he receives from audiences. The winner of the show then gets awarded with the title of Top Farmer and also earns prize money.

Whether the show turns out to be a hit or not is yet to be seen, but we have a feeling that it might just help the cause of farmers by giving people an insight into the hardships of an agrarian lifestyle.

Stay tuned as we try to figure out if the channel will pick this up or not!
