Bajrangi Bhaijaan success
Salman Khan's first film of the year released last weekend during Eid and ever since it released, it has been creating new box office records. After becoming the biggest opener of 2015, the Salman - Kareena starrer has also become the fastest one to make a whopping Rs 150 crore and now the film has already entered the Rs 200 crore club. So far it was only Salman's Kick that had entered the Rs 200 crore club. But Kabir Khan's film has become the second one to do so. Apart from doing exceptionally well at the domestic office, the film has also done great business overseas. BB has made about Rs 83.29 crore at the box office.
After a lot of delay, the trailer of Saif Ali Khan and Katrina's Phatom was released. The film which releases on August 28 is based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s Mumbai Avengers. For the longest time, there were rumours that Kabir Khan was ignoring the Saif-Katrina until the filmmaker clarified and announced the release date of his film. Though the story of this political thriller is set in Mumbai post the infamous 26/11 attacks and deals with an issue like global terrorism, the trailer wasn't too impressive. The film reminded us a lot of Kabir's earlier film Ek Tha Tiger which also starred Katrina and Akshay Kumar's Baby. Don't you agree?
Katrina doesn't plan to marry Ranbir
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are just back from Prague after their recent vacation. At the trailer launch of Kabir Khan's Phantom, the babe was asked about her marriage plans and engagement rumours. To this the actress said, "“I am not engaged to Ranbir Kapoor. There are no plans to marry anytime soon." Though Kat has negated all this, our sources informed us that Jr Kapoor recently bought an expensive platinum and diamond eternity band from the luxury Parisian brand Van Cleef and Arpels for his ladylove on her birthday. The custom made eternity band has Katrina’s initials on it.
Sujoy Ghosh released his short film - Ahalya featuring Radhika Apte, Soumitra Chatterjee and Tota Roy Chowdhury. The Kahaani filmmaker retold an epic saga to suit the modern times. The short film literally gave us chills and kept us on the edge of our seat till the very end. We loved the way Ghosh told an epic mythological story in the form of a thriller. If you haven't watched it as yet, you shouldn't waste any more time and check it out right away!
