Rumours are abound...
During a press interaction when Aamir Khan was asked if he is bothered by the similar themes of Salman Khan's Sultan and his Dangal, he had said, "There are no similarities. Only the aspect of wrestling is common. There are so many films that talk about revenge, so many romantic films. But the story of both our films is different." He even went on to praise the film and wished that it breaks all records. Well, it seems the actor did find the film tad bit overwhelming since rumours are doing the rounds that it made him think about an alternate way of taking things forward in the Dangal. He has apparently asked for changes in the climax of the film.
According to a source, Dangal was supposed to use a female wrestler nailing her opponent in the ring as the USP of the film. But Anushka Sharma has already showed that perfectly in Sultan. That has apparently made Aamir decide a change of course for his film. Now we hear he wants the film to focus more on the father-daughter relationship rather than women wrestling in the arena. Clearly, Aamir wasn't expecting such a turn of events. Sultan was supposed to be a male wrestler's story but Anushka's character seem to have made things tough for him.
But we don't understand why there's any need to worry here. Dangal is the triumphant story of a father and his dedication to make his daughters world champions in wrestling. It's a true story of the Phogat family while Sultan was fictional. With the Rio Olympics ready to begin, Dangal will only get more impetus. Plus, if any of the two Phogats Vinesh and Babita, manage to clinch a medal, Aamir's film will get a lot of push.
What do you think people? Should Aamir Khan be so bothered about Salman Khan's Sultan?
