The visionary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who had earlier launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor with Saawariya is giving a break to another actress, who is Bela Segal's (Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister) daughter Sharmin Segal. SLB has personally groomed and trained his niece to face the silver screen and we are sure that under the guidance of such a great filmmaker, we can expect the young girl to make a mark in the industry.
SLB has signed a three-film contract with Sharmin and her debut film will be opposite Jaaved Jaaferi's son Mizaan in the film titled Malaal. It is set to go on floors and is expected to release in the second half of 2019. Talking about her dream debut, Sharmin said, "When I decided to become an actor what excited me the most was the idea that I would feel emotions and experience experiences I wouldn’t normally have everyday. I’m happy that this launch has allowed me to do that, making it a difficult but still fulfilling experience." [sic]
The CEO of Bhansali Productions, Prerna Singh confirmed the news of having struck a 3-film deal with Sharmin and said, "In a time where character roles are more mainstream and audiences crave pure pleasure of the story. Launching and promoting new talent felt right as newness is the only change. With Sharmin’s launch, we at BPPL are just being true to SLB’s vision and we have signed her for 3 films." [sic]
Well, we are really excited to watch these two debutants on the silver screen and we hope they impress us with their acting chops.
