Seriously, is Rajkummar Rao even eating and breathing this year? After being a lead in movies like Trapped, Behen Hogi Teri, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton, with the upcoming Omerta and the web series Bose Dead/Alive, he has been at his busiest best in 2017. And I have not even mentioned his rather needless cameo in Raabta, where he was lost in layers of prosthetics. But there is more.
After Behen Hogi Teri and Bareilly Ki Barfi, Rajkummar Rao is back with another romcom called Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. The movie has him opposite Kriti Kharbanda of Raaz Reboot fame. Since the movie is based in Uttar Pradesh (again?), Kriti had even hired a language coach to help her perfect the local diction and get the nuances right. The movie is directed by Ratnaa Sinha, Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha's wife, and is produced by Vinod Bachchan. The movie is scheduled to release on November 10, clashing with Kapil Sharma's Firangi.
Unlike most of his recent movies, the shoot for Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana was mostly a very quiet affair with the only time it made some noise was when a wedding sequence worth Rs 2 crore was filmed. A source close to the production team spoke to a , “Money wasn’t a consideration for the makers, but they had limited time to build the set. Art director Arup Adikari along with set designer Shabiul Haasan, and their team created magic in three days. The biggest challenge was to make the wedding scene look completely different from what one has seen in earlier Bollywood films.” Producer Vinod Bachchan said, “Since it’s a wedding sequence, we wanted to create an elaborate set to resemble like a lavish ceremony.”
Can't wait to see what this wedding is all about!
