Will the Mohenjo Daro star relent?
Not long ago, the industry was abuzz with the fact that Shah Rukh Khan's Raees was supposed to clash with Salman Khan's Sultan during Eid. Both the films were not ready to relent and move the ahead, despite the makers knowing the fact that releasing the films together would only mean eating into each other's business!
However the less-than-expected turnover for Shah Rukh Khan's first release of 2016, FAN, the makers of Raees did a wise decision of moving the film to next year, citing shooting additional scenes, leaving an open field for Sultan. Raees has been now postponed to January 2017, scheduled to release either on 25th or 26th - The Republic Day weekend. However, there is another glitch here. It will now clash with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil.
Hrithik Roshan is working with Sanjay Gupta for the first time in Kaabil, a revenge thriller where he plays a blind man. Yami Gautham plays the heroine in the film. It was reported that the Roshans, who are also producing the film, are not too happy with Raees clashing with their film.
During his annual media interaction on Eid, SRK touched on this subject. He revealed that the producers for Raees, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are trying set up a meeting with Rakesh Roshan to try convince him to move his film to some other date. SRK said that when they announced the move to shift Raees to January, Kaabil had not even started shooting, while Raees is almost complete, except for a small portion. So he feels it would easier the makers of Kaabil to shift the film. He revealed the they are fixing a meeting with the Roshans on 10th to see if there are any such possibilities.
