It was the night when men stole the show...
Life OK Screen Awards happened last night and I got to see many style statements made at the red carpet. I was surprised to observe that the men in general were dressed more impressively than women! Without further ado, let's get into some decoding...
Shah Rukh Khan: Dressed in a sharp suit the star attraction of the award show attended to host and perform! To be honest, I am sick of seeing SRK in shiny suits and this sighting doesn't make me feel any better.
Priyanka Chopra: Channeling her retro alter ego the Mary Kom actress made quite a stunning appearance at the red carpet wearing a peach Gauri and Nainika gown. I just wish she went for a bolder lip but barring that everything was on point, I am a big fan of those Outhouse earrings. That hairstyle is just so gorgeous!
Deepika Padukone: She wore a black embroidered lehenga sari by Jade and paired it with Amrapali jhumkas. I am a little bored of seeing that sleeve length and that style of neck of the blouse on DP but I have to say that she looks beautiful on the red carpet.
Alia Bhatt: The Highway actress may have the Female Hero of the Year award under her belt but her Prabal Gurung gown for the show deserved no awards. From the hair, to that awkward slit to the black and gold sandals, nothing worked for the actress. I was expecting another femme fatale appearance from her after Star Guild but this Prabal Gurung number was disappointing.
Sidharth Malhotra: It was a well-fitted tuxedo for the dapper Brothers actor to flaunt his debonaire appeal! Though I wouldn't give him full points in the hosting area I sure would shower him with all the points in the drop-dead sexy department!
Varun Dhawan: Not many men can pull off that shade of blue specifically in that fabric, but the ABCD 2 star isn't like many men! I loved the length of the jacket, I quite like how fitted it was and most of all I liked the fusion of exuberant and formal dressing on Mr Dhawan.
Shahid Kapoor- It was a mix of old school and contemporary and boy did the Haider actor looks delicious in it! I just adore that checkered waist coat which contrasts so nicely with the colours of the jacket. The attitude is just spot on, and Shahid looks younger than ever!
Shraddha Kapoor: What a disastrous red carpet appearance this was! I was expecting an understated style statement from the ABCD 2 actress but that gown just doesn't make any sense on her!
Jacqueline Fernandez: She hit the bulls eye with her Stardust red carpet appearance, she disappointed me a little with her Star Guild awards look but this look of Jacky's has just made me go WTH! Those origami pleats on the bust look like a bat! This Giorgio Armani number was a huge mistake.
Kajol: Is a maxi dress the best outfit to wear to a big award function? I don't think so and after seeing Kajol's look from last night, I am now more than sure. The gold maxi dress by Rocky S looks awful on Kajol. The length of the dress is unflattering. Why couldn't she just have worn a Manish Malhotra saree?
Huma Qureshi: The Badlapur actress wore an Amit GT number to the red carpet. While waist up I have no problems with Huma's look, I am in two minds about the peplum-ish waist of the gown. Nevertheless, the colour looks spectacular on her and that cute Dior bag is on my "I want one!" list.
Lisa Haydon: Trust the Queen actress to make a smouldering hot red carpet appearance. She just looked super sexy in the Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The only glitch was the chained bag which I just wished she threw away!
Who did you like best at the red carpet?
