Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had issued a statement asking people to boycott Shah Rukh's next big release
More often than not celebs become easy targets and end up being dragged into unwanted controversies.
After creating ripples with his views on intolerance, Shah Rukh Khan is now facing the wrath of Raj Thackeray's MNS for not contributing to stop the suicide of poor farmers in Maharashtra. “Farmers in Maharashtra, specially in Marathwada, are reeling under drought. Khan, who has been residing in the state and has made a lot of money, has not helped farmers in distress. When his help is needed, he isn’t forthcoming. We are not seeking a ban. We are only appealing people to boycott the film. SRK is taking Maharashtra for granted", read a statement from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
While SRK was promoting his film Dilwale, he was asked to express his views about MNS' appeal to boycott the film. " We have made a positive film, so I am sure that people will watch the film", said Shah Rukh responding to the queries. Looks like SRK is confident that people of the state will watch the film irrespective of the boycott appeal from MNS. While SRK's answer is reassuring, many might wonder if Dilwale's box office collection might get affected by MNS' boycott demand. We will have to wait for December 18 to know about that.
