2017 could not have begun on a better note. 15 minutes into the New Year, Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to unveil the first look of a biopic based on Paralympic champion - Mariyappan Thangavelu. It showed the 21 year old holding the Gold medal it had won for India during the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio, for long jump in the T-42 category. The Bollywood actor called Mariyappan our very own national hero. The film's tagline reads - The world may think you can't, what you think is what matters. And guess what, this biopic is Aishwarya Rajinikanth Dhanush's next film. Nothing like beginning the year on an inspiring note. The film will release in English and Tamil. Sean Roldan is composing the music for this one, while the cinematography will be headed by Velraj. As for the dialogues, they will be delivered by Raju Murugan. We are super excited about this project.
For those who didn't know, Mariyappan and his five siblings were taken care of by their mother, ever since their father abandoned him. At age of 5, a bus driver drove over Mariayappan's feet, which resulted in a disability in his right leg. But nothing really stopped him, he became a volley ball player, also participated in high jump competitions even after this incident. Reportedly Satyanarayana noticed his potential at the national Paralympic championship and took him in as s student. And rest is as we know it. The story will be about this phenomenal character from Salem district in Tamil who overcame his challenges and made the nation proud.
Even Dhanush, Aishwarya's husband took to social media to congratulate her. What a treat for her fans on her birthday.
Well, last year, we saw some brilliant biopics - Sonam Kapoor's Neerja, Aamir Khan's Dangal, Sushant Singh Rajput's MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Now we are left to see if this biopic will strike gold as well. We are already excited after this stellar first look.
