62nd Jio Filmfare Awards took place last night in Mumbai. Attended by the biggest names of Bollywood, it was an event to remember. While Alia Bhatt went on to bag the Best Actor (Female) Award for Udta Punjab, Shahid Kapoor won the Critics' Award For Best Actor (Male) for his 'rocking' performance in the same film. After receiving the award Shahid said: "I am very excited to get it and I want to thank Filmfare for this. It's a good day!"
Shahid walked the Red Carpet with his gorgeous wife Mira Rajput. The man looked dapper in a black kurta and pencil pants while Mira looked beautiful in a simple beige and blue gown. The couple appeared helplessly in love with each other as they shared eye locks and several mushy moments on the red carpet.
Shahid posted a cute picture on his Instagram account, where Mira is seen proudly holding his award. We liked the caption even better. He wrote, "Came with one stunning lady and heading home with two. Thank you #filmfare. #udtapunjab congratulations @aliaabhatt and @diljitdosanjh."
A happy Shahid tweeted: "Thank you Abhishek Chaubey and Sudip Sharma for conceiving Tommy Singh. The Filmfare trophy belongs to you first. Congratulations to Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh for the much deserved awards. Here's to cinema with content. Say no to drugs."
Udta Punjab revolves around drug abuse in north of Punjab and how the youths there have succumbed to it. Shahid essayed the character of a high-on-drugs, long-haired rockstar Tommy Singh.
