Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput surprised everyone on Friday when they announced that they are expecting their second child. They put an adorable picture of their first daughter, Misha to make the announcement. In the picture we see Misha, on the floor, with a bunch of colourful balloons drawn next to her with chalk. Right above the drawing, the text reads, “Big sister”. So Misha, who will be turning 2-years old on August 26, will not be the youngest member of the family. Shahid, who bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award (Best Actor) for his performance in Padmaavat, was asked about this cute announcement at the red carpet and he said that it was Mira's idea and that it was very spontaneous.
"I am very happy and we just felt like sharing it with everyone. Mira wanted to put it out on Instagram and I thought that the photograph was really cute, it was a spontaneous decision and it just happened. It was a great weekend for the family," said Shahid. Talking about the award, he dedicated it to Mira as he said, “This is my first award for Padmaavat this year, so I am really very happy and I would like to dedicate this award to my wife, Mira because she tolerated me for a year during this period and without her I wouldn’t have been able to do this film. So I am very thankful to her.”
On the work front, Shahid is shooting for Batti Gul Metre Chalu where he will be seen alongside Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor. He is also said to be on-board for the Hindi remake of Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Devarakaonda.
