2016 has been a year of marriages but not for Shakti Arora and Neha Saxena. Demonetisation hit them and how! These two were supposed to get married on 15th November 206 and on their honeymoon right now but the duo had to postpone their wedding after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the overnight ban on Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes. The actor had already withdrawn money to pay to the wedding organisers and other staff but they refused to take the old notes which forced them to postpone their wedding. And you thought demonetisation only affected the common people!
The actor told an entertainment portal," I had withdrawn cash to pay to the wedding organisers, caterers and other staff as I had to give them an advance. However, they are refusing to take the old currency now. It will take me a long time to exchange the old notes with the new ones. I have no idea when we will get married now. It’s definitely not happening this year." It's actually pretty sad that the two had to postpone their wedding because of demonetisation. A lot of TV celebrities got married this year including Dheeraj Dhoopar and Vinny Arora, Karan Sharma and Tiara Kar, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, Shikha Singh and Karan Shah and list goes on. In fact, Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchant are also all set to tie the knot on 16th December 2016. Shakti and Neha met each other on the sets of Tere Liye. The actors did not start off on a friendly note and their first impression about each other was definitely not positive. But they became friends soon and Neha helped him cope up with a break up that he was going through then. Cupid played its trick and their friendship turned into love. It didn't take much time for the two to make their relationship official and meet each other's parents. Isn't that sweet now? We're sure that they'll announce the next date for their wedding really soon.
