The misfortune of the girl child in India is providing enough fodder for TV producers to weave stories around them. Right from black magic aspect to inferior treatment to problems of widows, many issues are being shown on TV. Shakti: Astitva Ke Ahsaas Ki is also around this theme. Set in Punjab, it talks about two sisters who are divided by the treatment they get from their families, especially by their father. This show marks the comeback of Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik on television.

We see how the little girl is chastised by her family for being a harbinger of ill luck. Her only support is her mother. While we hate such regressive content on TV, one has to consider that discrimination is a part of our society in many places even now. The little girl in the promo has put up a sincere performance and our heart goes out to her every time. Ayub Khan is also good as we have developed an instant dislike for him.

Produced by Rashmi Sharma Productions, the show might replace Ishq Ka Rang Safed on Colors if rumours are to go by. It is a story based in the rural landscape of Punjab. The theme is of two sisters falling in love with the same man. Vivian Dsena will be shown as a chilled-out muscular Punjabi munda on the show.
