This number by Ilaiyaraaja sheds light on the turmoils face by an actor to stay put in the industry. Read on to know more!
Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush's Shamitabh is one of the most awaited films this year. Not only does this venture by R Balki look promising, but also is likely to shell out some power packed performances owing to its brilliant star cast. Shruti Haasan's sister Akshara Haasan will be seen making her debut in the film. The film's music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja and we have come across a brand new song by the celebrated music director. After the hilarious number Piddly which showcased Amitabh in an intoxicated state, Ishq-E-Fillum cleverly highlights the struggle of an actor to make it big in the industry. The video showcases Amitabh and Dhanush fighting it out to stay put in B-town , along with the latter's romantic scenes with Akshara.
The lyrics of the song are impactful, where they take a dig at the nation's obsession with Bollywood films, and an actor's need to survive in this field. Kudos to lyricist Swanand Kirkire for smartly penning down such thoughtful words!
Coming to the track, we feel it isn't one of the most applause worthy ones but yet, holds an important message and a hints at those who tend to lose their way in the frenzy of stardom and fame. The tune of the song fails to hold the listener's attention, followed by the composition which lacks consistency and a proper flow. The number per say wasn't a winner in our books but the concept and thought put in deserves a shoutout. Catch the video of the song below!
