The legendary actor complained of cough and breathlesness
Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor has been hospitalised in a Mumbai hospital after he complained of cough and breathlessness.
Kapoor, 76, was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Sunday. The legendary actor has not been keeping well for quite some time.
"Mr Kapoor, although in the ICU, is stable and is on antibiotics. He has been diagnosed with chest infection," Executive director of the hospital, Dr Ram Narain said. Shashi Kapoor has appeared in 160 movies.
A versatile actor, Kapoor was one of the first Indian actors to go international. The actor has won National Film Awards thrice. In 2010, Shashi was presented with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.
Kapoor is known for his films like Awaara, Deewar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kabhie Kabhie among others.
The veteran has three children from his late wife Jennifer Kendal.
