Captain Vikram Batra biopic, which is titled Shershaah, is one of the most anticipated films of Sidharth Malhotra. The film has generated curiosity among the masses ever since it was announced. Sidharth will be seen alongside Kiara Advani and Rakul Preet Singh in the movie by Vishnu Vardhan. Sid completed the first schedule of Shershaah a few months ago and now he is back to shoot the second schedule of the film in Kargil. After finishing the promotions of Jabariya Jodi, Sidharth Malhotra jetted off to Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. Shershaah's second schedule will be shot in Leh, Ladakh and Kargil.
Buzz was that the makers had planned the schedule and sought permission for the shoot before the Union Government revoked Article 370. Reacting to these reports, Shabbir Boxwala, co-producer of the film, told Mumbai Mirror, "There were reports of unrest but by and large, there is no problem at all. Places like Kargil, Leh, Ladakh and even Jammu are calm, that’s what I heard from some of the army officers I spoke to. Only Srinagar is a little tense, but we’re optimistic it will also ease out in the coming days. That’s also why we moved our cast and crew from Leh."
Team Shershaah will be in Jammu and Kashmir till September 15. Sharing more details about this schedule, a source informed MM, "It is a 40-day schedule, during which the war sequences will be shot. Sidharth will be shooting almost all his action portions in the coming weeks. He had prepped for this schedule earlier this year."
Sidharth had earlier also said, "I will leave for the next schedule of Shershaah in the first week of August. It is a 40-day gruelling schedule where we film the entire climax sequences. It's an action-packed shoot and I'm excited to be filming at Kargil. It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I've been training for the last few weeks to get the action right."
Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani and Rakul Preet Singh is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, an officer of the Indian Army who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
