Payal Rohatgi, who participated in the second edition of Bigg Boss, has been arrested by Rajasthan's Bundi Police. The actress herself confirmed her arrest by sharing the news on her Twitter handle. Payal has been detained for making a video on former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Expressing displeasure over her arrest, Payal tweeted, "I am arrested by @PoliceRajasthan for making a video on #MotilalNehru which I made from taking information from @google ? Freedom of Speech is a joke ? @PMOIndia @HMOIndia." SP Mamta Gupta also informed ANI that a case has been registered against the actress. It was Rajasthan Youth Congress general, Charmesh Sharma, who filed a complaint against Payal Rohatgi for sharing an objectionable video about the former PM on September 1.
"During the investigation, our team reached her residence in Mumbai. Later, we met Rohtagi at her parent's home in Gujarat. We have given her the notice to file a reply in the case," Investigating officer Lokendra Paliwal was quoted as saying to ANI. According to the same media report, Payal Rohatgi is likely to be produced before the court on Monday. Rajasthan's Bundi Police had registered a case against Payal under 66 and 67 of the IT act. The complaint was filed in October by Charmesh Sharma, a month after Payal posted the video on her social media handle.
