That's indeed a gutsy confession by the Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani actress
That Drashti Dhami is a great actress is no news to anyone. The immense fan following the actress has is proof enough. She then went on to prove her mettle as a dancer on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in its 6th season and people loved her even more. The actress won the season, no surprises there. A great actress and a fabulous dancer as she might be, the actress terribly failed to make her mark as a host. After winning the dance reality show, Drashti was hired as the host of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, but since audiences did not appreciate this stint, the actress was replaced mid season by Manish Paul, who is also the host this season. However, unlike most celebs who tend to defend their act to the best they can, Drashti took the highway and admitted that it was a failure.
In a conversation with BollywoodLife, the actress said, "It's just like they say, every actor is not an anchor and every anchor is not an actor. I gave it my best, but honestly, I feel I'm a way better actor than I am a host. If I have to place thing into hierarchy it would be first acting, then dancing and then hosting. I myself didn't enjoy it. Of course any failure does put you a little low, but I personally didn't enjoy it. So it was okay (when they replaced me). I enjoyed hosting the Golden Petal Awards since it was for just a day and it was scripted. I'm not a very witty person. I am witty but just with my close friends, I wouldn't be able to do it on stage. My comedy is way too sarcastic."
But the actress also confessed that if given a chance she wouldn't mind giving it another try.
Well, we are might impressed with Drashti for acknowledging her limitations openly. Hat's off to the actress!
