As per the latest reports, The supreme Court has asked Latha Rajinikanth to pay up a loan of Rs 6.20 crore along with its interest in 12 weeks to a Ad Bureau who lent the money around the time of the release on Kochadaiiyaan. Reports on Deccan chronicle state that, when the Rs 150 crore film was facing a financial crunch, Ad Bureau stepped in to lend money to Media One, the producer of the superstar's film. The money was loaned basis the condition that the distribution rights would go to Media One.
But as per reports, the agreement was not followed as the film's rights were then sold to Eros. "The director of 'Kochadaiyaan', Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, has become CEO of Eros. The whole act has been cleverly orchestrated and indicates a white collar fraud owing to breach of contract and trust,” stated a complainant as per reports on Deccan Chronicle. If at all, Latha Rajinikanth would be unable to pay the loan, she would need to personally settle the loan. The court has asked Latha Rajinikanth to inform them as to when the load would be repaid.
Kochadaiiyaan was a 2014 animated, period action film that marked Soundarya Rajinikanth's debut. Animated forms of the characters were created keeping the actors in mind. The film starred Rajinikanth, Shobana, Deepika Padukone, The film talks of a king's revenge against the ruler of the kingdom for murdering his father. The film on its release opened to mixed reviews. The film was criticised for its sub standard quality.The film performed disastrously at the BO.
