Yes, you read right! Kabir Khan did make the actor do that...
Kabir Khan loves to keep it real with his films. Even for a Salman Khan film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, he tried to stay as close to reality as possible. Hence, he insists on shooting at real locations. For his next film Phantom too, Kabir shot in Lebanon and Beirut for effects. But something he made Saif Ali Khan do which will not even cross your mind in your wildest dreams. He made the actor shoot with real-life militants!
According to a daily, a major chunk has been shot in Beirut and apparently, some people on the sets are from Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant outfit which is also a political party in Lebanon. The daily quoted Saif saying that while shooting the film he spoke to one of the extras and found out that he is from Hezbollah. In fact, some of the locals working in the film belonged to some extremist faction. Apparently, Kabir met them somewhere. Saif was thankful that they didn't shoot him!
Well, talk about being real! Guess for authenticity Kabir will do anything. He didn't even spare the militants! Hope all this works well for Phantom.
