The youngest Chief Minister has found himself in a controversy. Read on to know more...
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is facing a lot of flak on social media after he said that he downloaded Aamir Khan's PK and watched it. He made this comment at a press conference, where he declared PK tax-free in his state saying he was impressed by it.
"People had been telling me for many days to watch PK. I downloaded it a few days ago, but only found the time to watch it last night. I liked it immediately and decided to make it tax-free so that more people can watch it," he said about PK, which also stars Anushka Sharma, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh Rajput and Saurabh Shukla.
It was actually a message to all the religious groups, who have been protesting against PK, claiming that the Rajkumar Hirani directorial insults Hindu Gods and God-men.
But soon Akhilesh was accused of piracy. Here's what people had to say on Twitter:
@shubhravati - Akhilesh Yadav downloaded and watched PK. Then decided to make it tax-free. So much for anti-piracy laws!
@noyonjoparsara - And the best joke of the year so far, #AkhileshYadav downloaded #PK. And now he wants everyone to watch it at theaters. Wah CM saab!
However, the Chief Minister's Office attempted damage control with its own tweet this morning. "#UPCM #Akhileshyadav has licensed @UFOMoviez digifacility to download & watch movies. Controversy around pirated download is unwarranted," read the tweet.
