The makers of Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey starrer Chhappaak recently unveiled the first look of the actress. Deepika as Malti left everyone stumped with her striking resemblance to Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor. From fans to Bollywood celebrities, DP's look impressed all. Along with the first look, the actress announced January 10, 2020, as the release date of her film and we can't wait to see more from where that came from.
Needless to say, the story of Laxmi Agarwal is a story of indomitable spirit and strength and just to see that come alive on screen, by Deepika Padukone nonetheless has us on the edge of our seats.
However, if you are as eager as us about the film, here's something that will make your wait worthwhile. It so happened that Shraddha Kapoor shared a video of Laxmi dancing to her song Cham Cham and it is too good to miss. Check it out here.
Infectious, isn't it?
For the unversed, Laxmi was a 16-year-old teenager when she was attacked by a 32-year-old man, who stalked her. When Laxmi rejected his advances, he threw acid on her face, denting her life forever. But her tale will soon get the due it deserves. Earlier, DP has posted pictures from the prep of the film along with Vikrant. She had captioned it as, "All things are ready, if our mind be so-William Shakespeare #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi @vikrantmassey87."
Meanwhile, Vikrant was quizzed as to how he felt working with the diva. He told Mumbai Mirror, "Working with an actress of her calibre is not just an opportunity but also a huge responsibility. I’m both nervous and excited." The 31-year-old not only spoke about his co-star but revealed details about his character too. "Alok has been working with acid attack survivors for a while now and has been through the entire struggle with Laxmi. The film will showcase interesting dynamics between the two," Vikrant added.
