The 2 years that he invested on Mohenjo Daro, the actor has said no to many projects...
It's really amusing how Hrithik Roshan's star power was hardly been hampered by Mohenjo Daro's below par response at the box office. Although the trade believes it will turn into another Bombay Velvet, the actor has hardly been at loss here because his fans are still with him. All he needs is a big hit. But did you know while Mohenjo Daro was in the pipeline, there were reports of him bowing out of many films. He worked on Ashutosh Gowariker's period saga for nearly 2 years and in that duration said no to many films.
You would argue that the film has been shelved so why talk about it. Well, we have a feeling had Hrithik Roshan not walked out of the film, it could have still been a reality. We were the first ones to tell you that Shuddhhi is a reincarnation story which was supposed to have Hrithik opposite Kareena Kapoor. The cast created so much buzz that the film became a hot topic. But with his refusal, the film went on a limbo to ultimately get canned. With Kareena, he would have made a great catch for his fans.
Paani was announced with Hrithik in the cast. A futuristic tale about a time when water is scarce and world wars are fought over it. The actor was supposed to be part of it since its initial stage but when Shekhar Kapur's this directorial was not going anywhere, he bowed out. But rumours were rife that he was denied a profit sharing module by the producers. Later, Yash Raj Films took over the project and announced Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. But even today, nothing concrete is known about the film. We wonder if Hrithik had stayed on, would Paani be a reality today?
Baar Baar Dekho
We told you how a report in Mumbai Mirror states that Nitya Mehra's time travel film Baar Baar Dekho went from Aamir Khan to Hrithik to Sidharth Malhotra. When the Dangal actor's economics couldn't be sorted out, he left the project which then apparently went to Hrithik who was really excited about it. There are rumours that later when Mohenjo Daro happened, he decided to concentrate more on Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama. And results are for all of you to see.
This makes us seriously wonder if Hrithik Roshan made the right career choices.
