The Marathi star spoke to BollywoodLife on the same
Marathi actor-comedian Siddharth Jadhav found himself amidst controversy when rumours of him being at the receiving end of Akshay Kumar’s anger did the rounds yesterday. The actor who was a part of Comedy Nights Bachao for an episode reportedly roasted actress Lisa Haydon calling her a ‘kangaroo’ and Black African. The word ‘kangaroo’ can be termed as racist as Lisa is of Indian-Australian origin.
Bollywood Life got in touch with Siddharth, who said, “The news report is totally wrong. No one made hurtful comments at Lisa. We were having a lot of fun. I taught her words in Marathi. It is fake news.” The actor took the place of Karan Wahi, who could not shoot for the episode due to some reason.
As per the report in a leading tabloid, Lisa (and Jacqueline) were almost in tears at the shoot. “I belong to a respectable Maharashtrian family and I have been taught to respect women. Our industry is also very respectful towards female artistes. I don’t need this kind of publicity,” he said. The actor also took to Twitter to clarify on the stories. We had also got in touch with Adaa Khan, who said that nothing of that sort happened on the sets.
Housefull 3 that releases on June 3 stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon and Jacqueline Fernandez. Since it is a comedy film, Comedy Nights Bachao was one of the ideal platforms to promote the flick and have some fun. However, it seems like the actors did not find the humour entertaining enough!
