With Vijay-Sridevi starrer postponed for October release, the Ganesh Chaturthi weekend is all up for grabs
This was bound to happen. It happened with Baahubali, it happened with Rudhramadevi and it was bound to happen with Puli too. VFX is tricky demon to conquer as it requires a lot of time to achieve perfection.
And just the way VFX work derailed release plans of Baahubali in the past, pending VFX work has forced makers of Vijay's Puli to postpone the release by two weeks. Earlier slated to release on September 17, now Vijay-Sridevi-Shruti Haasan starrer will be out on October 1. This meant the auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi release date was up for the grabs. Not just one, but three small films, which were waiting for Puli storm to pass, will now release on September 17.
Sivakarthikeyan's Rajini Murugan will clash with GV Prakash's Trisha Illana Nayanthara and comedian Goundamani's comeback flick 49-0 on September 17. While Sivakarthikeyan's star power gives Rajini Murugan an edge over the other two films, music director turned actor GV Prakash showed a lot of promise with his debut film Darling and it would be foolish not to consider Trisha Illana Nayanthara as a threat. Also, popular comedian Goundamani has a huge fan base and his comeback flick 49-0 is also expected to do well. With Puli out of the race of Ganesh Chaturthi release, looks like its gonna be a tough competition between these three films.
