Sonakshi Sinha wants a permanent ban on Jallikattu and if you are a human being with a heart, you will listen to her plea for protection of animals from this cruel South Indian practice!
Sonakshi Sinha recently took to Twitter and it wasn't for a Dubsmash video or a film promotion. Instead, Sona was using her position as a celebrity to make a plea with Prakash Javdekar, MOS (IC) for Environment, Forest & Climate Change about the practice of Jallikattu.
Jallikattu is a bull taming sport played in Tamil Nadu as part of Pongal festivities. Bulls are reared specially for the event and on the day of the "festivities" bulls are subjected to unspeakable torture and trauma.
Sonakshi shared a video from the said event which has PETA investigating the "sport". After watching the atrocities inflicted on the bulls, you would have a lump in your throat. Sonakshi wants people to sit up and take notice of this problem. She has pled with the Minister to keep the Jallikattu practice banned in India. The Supreme Court had banned the "sport" in 2014 but turns out that it continues in certain parts of Tamil Nadu.
Sonakshi has brought the same to our notice and she pleads with people to call for protection of bulls from this horrendous practice which is downright inhuman and repulsive.
We don't just applaud Sonakshi for bringing this practice to our notice we also salute her for making the right use of her celebrity status and draw the attention of the appropriate authorities to the said matter.
We leave you with some food for thought by Jr Shotgun...
Think about it and tell is if you would stand in support with Sonakshi against the practice of Jallikattu.
