The uncertainty around her being a part of the hit franchise is growing by the day.
In all probability, Sonakshi Sinha will not be a part of the upcoming installment of Salman Khan's superhit franchise, Dabanng 3. Sonakshi had made her debut with Dabanng, and was also a part of the sequel, where she played Salman Khan's gutsy wife.
As per a report in DNA, a source close to the film said that Sonakshi SInha might be replaced by a new actress, as the producer Arbaaz Khan and star Salman Khan are not too keen to work with her again?
So what exactly happened here? Wasn't Sonakshi Sinha one of Salman Khan's favourite proteges?
Answer: Dolly ki Doli happened, as per the source. Arbaaz Khan actually wanted Sonakshi Sinha to play the lead in the film (which later went on to Sonam Kapoor), but she refused to do so. Apparently, even Salman Khan had tried to convince her to take the role, but she didn't budge from her stand (seeing how the film fared at the box office, we say she was quite intuitive, but then she does R...Rajkumar, so no comments). This had apparently angered her mentor, and he determined never to work with her again. Knowing Salman Khan, once he is pissed off with someone, it will take four blue moons to appear together to make mends with him. Ask Arijit Singh.
Replacing heroines from a franchise is not such a huge deal in Hindi films. Gracy Singh was replaced by Vidya Balan in the Munnabhai sequel. Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez replaced Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif in the race sequel, while Dhoom franchise has seen its fair share of heroine replacements.
