The city of Mumbai is soaking in the festive fervour of Gannesh Chaturthi. Several B-Town celebs too are celebrating in full spirits welcoming Lord Ganesh in their homes. Sonali Bendre, however, is miles away in New York undergoing the treatment for cancer. The actress is missing Ganpati celebration big time. Her husband Goldie Behl and teenager son Ranveer are back in Mumbai for festival. She is clearly missing her family by her side. It must be difficult for her family too, not having Sonali by their side. Taking to Instagram, Sonali wrote a heart-warming message with pictures where we see her family doing the aarti. "Ganesh Chaturthi has always been very, very close to my heart. Missing the celebrations back home, but still feeling blessed. Have a happy one, filled with blessings, love and joy," [sic] she wrote. Sonali was diagnosed with metastatic and in July, she wrote a post about it on social media. Her family, including her son, have been her pillars of support. Ranveer especially took the news in a matured way. Sonali wrote about it in another post, "As much as we wanted to protect him, we knew it was important to tell him the full facts. We’ve always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn’t going to be different. He took the news so maturely… and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me. In some situations now, he even reverses roles and takes on being the parent, reminding me of things I need to do! I believe that it’s imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It’s important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite."
May Bappa give her and the family strength to pass through this difficult time.
