I take a look at actresses who need to up their game with better films and challenging roles. Read on!
Every Bollywood actor goes through ups and downs in their career and the same is a given. While the Deepikas, Shah Rukh Khans and Priyankas have taken over the industry today, they too have witnessed their low points. But the task is to brush oneself off and get back in the race rather than quit it. The actors and actresses mentioned above seem to be stuck in the rut of doing the same roles of giving unsuccessful ventures one after the other. Here are ways in which they can reinvent themselves:Sonakshi Sinha
I didn’t believe Sonakshi Sinha was a powerful performer till the time I saw Lootera. Post the same, I hoped to see her essaying impactful characters but was disappointed with her choice of films such as R…Rajkumar, Action Jackson and the recently released Tevar. I truly believe Sona has talent which needs major polishing and the correct script, story and role would help her. The actress needs to sit back and introspect on the kind of films she gives her nod to. She seems to be stuck in the rut of signing ventures by her director pal Prabhu Deva, which needs to stop soon.
Parineeti’s case is similar to Sonakshi’s. Immense talent but wrong choice of films. I was floored by Pari’s performance in Ishaqzaade as well as Hassee Toh Phassee. I however fail to understand her fixation with the YRF banner as well as ‘girl next door’ roles. The actress tried to revamp her image with Kill Dil, but failed miserably owing to the film’s lack of success at the Box office. Pari admitted to being fed up with the peppy image that she had. But she forgets that people will take in whatever is GIVEN to them. Along with her fashion choices, the actress also needs to work on the way she presents herself. She needs to bid adieu to the constant clapping of hands, chirpy-bubbly vibe and giggles. I’m not a Pari hater but am of the opinion that she at times come across as someone who is ‘trying too hard.’
The actress took the nation by a storm with her daring stint in The Dirty Picture. I wonder whatever happened to that Vidya? After giving us films like Paa and Kahaani, the actress seems to have lost the spark which needs rekindling. Bobby Jasoos didn’t do justice to Vidya’s impeccable talent and thus a remarkable film is the need of the hour. Having said that, I think Vidya needs an urgent makeover as well. I am fed up of seeing her in lose, poorly fitted and unflattering sarees and salwar kurtas. Though the actress dresses her age, her choices fail to make the mark. For a long time, Kajol was a victim of fashion bashing but has changed the game for herself, courtesy her stylish turnouts. So what’s stopping you Vidya?
I’m certain if I Google the word ‘Horror film,’ Bipasha Basu would pop up in my results. The actress was once the talk of the town and was termed as the sexiest lass Bollywood had ever seen. Though Bips still has a drool worthy bod, her kitty if full of flop films. With Raaz 3D, Aatma, Creature 3D and the recently released Alone, the beauty seems adamant in scaring us. I believe Bipasha has a certain sex appeal and boldness to her which several actresses lack. If she uses this quality well along with choosing the right films, Bips will be in the race soon. The actress needs to get rid of the ‘horror queen’ tag ASAP!
Though Sonam is managing to shell out films which are garnering the big bucks, I would love to see her essaying some challenging roles. I’m not saying the characters played by the fashionista have been easy, but when it comes to pushing the envelope, I believe Sonam hasn’t made the mark yet. After watching films like Khoobsurat, Raanjhana and Aisha, I feel the actress continues to play parts within her comfort zone. A dark, evil or scheming role is what I wish to see Sonam in!
