Since last year, Sonu Sood has been working relentlessly to help people amid the Covid crisis. He and his team recently saved the lives of 22 patients at a Bengaluru hospital, and also arranged for a critically ill Covid patient to be airlifted from Jhansi to Hyderabad for necessary treatment. And now his Simmba co-star Sara Ali Khan has donated a significant amount to Sood Charity Foundation for Covid-19 relief.
Thanking Sara for her contribution, Sonu called the Simmba actress a hero and said that she has inspired the youth to come forward to help the nation amid the crisis. "Thank you so much my dear Sara Ali Khan for your contribution to the @soodfoundation! Extremely proud of you & keep on doing the good work. You have inspired the youth of the nation to come forward and help during these difficult times. You are a hero Hugging face @sara_ali_khan95," Sonu tweeted.
A few days ago, Sonu had taken to Instagram to urge more people to come forward and help those who are suffering due to Covid. He posted a screen recording of his phone that shows the actor has been getting messages from people asking for help continuously. He says he is trying to help as many people as possible.
"The speed at which we get requests across the country. Trying my best to reach out to everyone. Everyone...Please come forward. We need more helping hands. Do your best to the best of your capabilities," he wrote.
Sonu tested Covid positive a while back, but was back to helping people as soon as he recovered from the virus. On May 3, he thanked Priyanka Chopra Jonas for backing his appeal for free education to children of those who lost their lives to Covid. "Thanks a ton Priyanka for your support. I promise we will make this happen," Sonu wrote to Priyanka, along with a folded hands emoji.
