Deadpool 2 made more noise for its post credit scene than its incredibly funny script. The scenes that are touted as one of the best in the history of superhero movies, indeed, deserve the kind of attention they're drawing. With some major cameos and nostalgic moments, Deadpool 2 gets an extra brownie point or rather a star, for its mid-credit scenes (Yea, well, there's no post-credit). But what's so intriguing about it? Why is the entire world gushing about those particular scenes and what cameos are we really talking about? Well, please be patient for we are going to reveal it soon. Also Read: Deadpool 2 movie review: There’s no stopping the merc in this exceptionally funny sequel
While superhero movies these days are known for what we call post credit scenes, Deadpool being Deadpool, goes a notch higher. The movie definitely ups the ante by taking some hilarious digs at various superheroes, correcting few mistakes and tying up a few loose ends. Let us warn you, the article below is only full of surprises in the form of spoilers. So you still have some time to think in case you haven't watched the movie yet. Still here? Very well. Let's elaborate on how Hugh Juckman makes his appearance and why! Ya, ya. Hugh as Wolverine does make an appearance and the scene is whistle worthy.
So, in the first post-credits scene we see young X-Men Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Yukio (Shiori Kutsuna) actually working on the Cable's device that can help them travel the time. They warn Deadpool that if Cable sees him using it, he might just kill him. The next scene takes Deadpool back in time when his fiance Vanessa was killed by an assasin. This time our foul mouthed superhero kills the last attacker with some kitchenware to save the love of his life. Immediately Deadpool jumps to the point in the film when his completely non-super powered X-Force member Peter was killed. In the new scene he convinces him to go back to his normal life instead of helping his X- Force members. So after Vanessa, he saves Peter. What about his other team members? We are equally clueless. Now comes the BEST part. Deadpool meets Wolverine once again. The scene is just out of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (albeit slightly re-edited), where Hugh Jackman come face-to-face with Weapon XI — a corrupted, bald, mouthless killing machine. Wade, is that you?” Wolverine says. “Guess Stryker finally figured out how to shut you up.” And that's when the present day Deadpool steps into frame. “Hey! It’s me! Don’t scratch! Just cleaning up the timelines,” he says. He fires rounds into Weapon XI’s corpse. This is not it. Deadpool even says I love you while exiting! Yes, you go ahead and pinch yourself.
The final mid credit scene sees Ryan Reynolds (the actor) in a warmly lit office. “Welcome to the big leagues, kid,” the Canadian star tells himself. He has the script for Green Lantern in his hand. The makers take a dig at Ryan himself for the 'green' choices he made in the past. Deadpool puts a bullet in Ryan's forehead and says “You’re welcome, Canada." Now we all know what a blunder Green Lantern really was. No points for guessing the actor wants to correct his mistake.
There you go! Now we bet you agree with us when we say, Deadpool 2's mid-credit scenes were at par than anyone else's. The movie is funnier and weirder than before and it's definitely a must-watch.
