When brother-in-law Sanjay Kapur was asked to comment on Sridevi's unexpected death, he said, "We are completely shocked. She had no history of a heart attack. She was hale and hearty, and looked happy at the wedding. I am shocked at how quickly things turned for the worse. She was looking forward to Janhvi's debut, and her own films. None of us saw this coming, she didn't either."
Actress Jaya Prada too had similar things to say about Sridevi's dream to watch Janvhi become an actress as she said, "When my son Siddharth was getting married, I had personally gone to invite her and she had come with her entire family. She was always very warm whenever we met. She really wanted to see Janhvi in her first film but everything is God’s will. I had never imagined that she would go away so soon. She would always have a smile on her face."
As her mortal remains are expected to arrive in Mumbai by evening today, Sanjay added, "People have been helpful and are trying to do their best to help us in this situation. The authorities have to follow the procedure. We have to abide by the country's laws. The police is doing their best to help us with the formalities."
