After 48 hours of critical investigation by the Dubai Police and the Public Prosecution, Sridevi's death case has finally been closed with "accidental drowning due to loss of consciousness' been concluded as the cause of death. The official Dubai media house too confirmed the news stating, "Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed." Which means, the family can finally claim Sridevi's mortal remains and take it back to India for last rites. For those of you don't know, embalming is a medical process of preserving a dead body to delay decomposition by using arterial injection of a preservative.. People have been practicing embalming in various forms for thousands of years. Basically, the body gets drained of blood and gases once dead so through embalming, you can pump in replacement fluids to temporarily slow its disintegration. While embalming is fairly common, it is rarely necessary or required by law until very critical like in Sridevi's case whose body has been lying since the last 48 hours.
Currently, Boney Kapoor Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are in Dubai completing the final formalities to fly Sridevi's mortal remains to India. From what we know, they will be flying down in a private jet, latest by evening today. The funeral is expected to follow shortly.
