Fans have been waiting for the release of the film ever since the trailer of the film was out!
High voltage action, cute romance, powerful dialogues and of course oodles of Mahesh Babu’s charm. Prince Mahesh Babu’s latest entertainer Srimanthudu directed by Kortala Siva has generated a lot of buzz before its release. Our critic Subramanian Harikumar is watching the film at a theatre right now and has sent us his first impression of the film.
Subaramanian says, "Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu does not have the kind of sarcasm or slapstick comedy which made Aagadu a tiring affair. Directed by Kortala Siva, it comes off as rather serious film with oodles of Mahesh Babu's charm to drive it forward.
Srimanthudu is about a rich multi millionaire Jagapathi Babu's son Harsha played by Mahesh Babu. While his father wants him to take over business, Harsha wants to help the poor and needy. He falls for a Rural Development student Charuseela played by Shruti Haasan. Meanwhile, in Harsha's village a deadly goon takes over the land of farmers forcing them to.commit suicide. When Charuseela breaks up with Harsha, after she finds out that he is the son of that businessman who has a hand in her village's pitiable state. This makes Harsha to visit his roots and solve the issue in his.village.
While the story line is not something unheard of, the director keeps us interested with fresh treatment. Mahesh Babu is truly the star of the film as he shines in dramatic, romantic scenes and packs a punch in action stunts. His chemistry with Shruti Haasan is amazing and their romance is played out nicely onscreen. The fight sequence at a marriage reception is nicely handled. Villains prove to be quite ineffective as Mahesh Babu thrashes them and tosses them like frisbees. CGI graphics in few scenes is bad. Overall it was an interesting first half. Lets see how film unfolds from here onwards."
