The superstar doesn't care about Hindi films...
Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu is getting bigger by the day. It has already entered the coveted 100 crore club recently and is all poised to earn more. No wonder that the affects of its runaway success has started to surface in Bollywood which is quick in announcing remakes. And it seems our thoughts are right after all. Bollywood will soon have its version of Srimanthudu with Shruti Haasan in the lead. But Mahesh Babu won't reprise his role since he doesn't care about Hindi films!
According to a daily, Mahesh Babu never had any inclination towards Hindi films. He didn't act in the remake of his film Pokiri which was helmed by Prabhudheva and had Salman Khan in lead titled Wanted. Both were big hits. Same goes for Srimanthudu. He has no interest in playing the lead in the Hindi do-over of this film either. But Shruti Haasan is elated to be part of the Hindi film as well. She apparently discussed the same with her father Kamal Haasan who also found the remake idea good.
The film is about Harsha who goes against his businessman father to uplift the condition of rural areas. Once there he meets Charusheela who is equally passionate about the cause. Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan's amazing chemistry was the talk of the town after the film release. The romance was the highlight of the film. So while the makers look for a worthy substitute for Mahesh Babu in the Hindi version of Srimanthudu, we wonder if the affect on us will be the same. Guess only time will tell!
