The collection of day 7 of Student Of The Year 2 is here. The film has made Rs 4.02 crores at the box office on Thursday. The collections of the film now stand at Rs 57.90 crores. Experts feel it has underperformed given its high budget. With De De Pyaar De and John Wick arriving at the box office, it will be an uphill task to touch its reported budget of Rs 80 crores. Trade experts feel it is low as it does not match Tiger Shroff's star power or the number of screens it got. Now, it is left to the second weekend to determine the fate of the college drama. Student Of The Year 2 has Tiger Shroff in the role of Rohan Sachdev who leaves his middle-class Pishorimal College in Mussoorie to join St. Teresa's where his childhood sweetheart Mridula Chawla (Tara Sutaria) has taken admission. What follows thereafter is a tale of campus rivalry, friendships, love and how the underdog comes up trumps. The first-week business is lower than Baaghi (2016) and Baaghi 2 (2018).
BollywoodLife in its review wrote, "In a bid to make a candy floss-popcorn entertainer, people have neglected the story and how. All the characters are poorly developed. Only Shreya (Ananya Panday) has bit of a journey in the film. You don't feel any sympathy for Mia or resonate with Rohan, the way you should. It is disappointing as there was scope to do something different. Karan Johar's Student Of The Year had a better plot and emotional core."
Critics have largely slammed the film for its wafer-thin plot, lack of originality and regressive mentality. It is like the girls have nothing to do except look pretty. The best role has been given to Ananya Panday who plays Shreya. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more scoops and updates!
