Finally, it will get its due...
Sultan's euphoric run at the box office was celebrated by the whole industry because it was yearning for a huge blockbuster for sometime now. While initially it was going incredibly well, breaking records on its way, in last couple of days it was dragging itself to the 300 cr mark. The march to the famed club was also mired by controversies what with reports of YRF trying to downplay the collections. But when you have a Salman Khan in a film who has an enviable fan following, you just can't stop him. Sultan entered the 300 crore mark today.

Sultan made many records upon release. With more than 36 cr on its opening day and over 100 crore in three days on the tally, the film had already created a mammoth number of 35 records in its wake. Salman Khan's wrestler turn was received phenomenally well. The numbers it did was something everyone was hoping for. But since its second week, the film was continuously slumping. It was even losing out to Salman Khan's other hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Later, the numbers suddenly dwindled so bad, that it had to drag itself to the 300 crore club. But who cares till it makes that kind of money.
Taran Adarsh, Trade Analyst, tweeted the figures the film which was, "#Sultan [Week 5] Fri 24 lacs, Sat 49 lacs, Sun 78 lacs, Mon 16 lacs. Total: ₹ 299.90 cr. India biz." And this was yesterday. He further tweeted his estimates of today saying, "As per trends, #Sultan should cross ₹ 300 cr mark today [Tue]. 3rd film to cross ₹ 300 cr nett, after #PK and #BajrangiBhaijaa n. India biz."
