The actor will launch the son himself next year (just like his dad Dharam did with him)
For some time now, there has been talk of Sunny Deol’s son Karan making his Bollywood debut. He has been gearing up for the big launch. It is learnt that Aditya Chopra wanted to launch him under his banner and approached Sunny for the same. However the cautious father rejected the a three-film offer for Deol Junior. Papa Sunny does not want to take a chance with his son’s career.
For those who came in late, Sunny and YRF have a long-standing feud that started over two decades ago. In 1993, Sunny, who was among the top stars of the time, acted in YRF’s film Darr co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, who was relatively new. Deol felt he had been shortchanged by director Yash Chopra. The actor had shot for the climax in the film and then the climax was changed without his knowledge. Sunny decided then never to work with the production house again.
However, a few years ago, things seemed to have changed when YRF bought the music rights of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 starring Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol. For now, Sunny has decided not to let his son sign a three-film deal with the production house. News is that he is planning to launch Karan himself next year.
Currently, the newbie is training to be an actor. He is also assisting Sunny in the upcoming film Ghayal Returns, which is a sequel to Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ghayal. Sunny is not only acting in the film, he is also directing it.
