Sony TV brings up its second instalment to the hit children’s dance show Super Dancer. The show replaces takes up the 8:00 o’clock time slot with Kapil’s show taken off air and Drama Company shifted to the 9: 00 pm. Super dancer finds a very special place amongst dance lovers because of its immense talent, this year too we hope to see the extravaganza. Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapur remain the same though the sets have definitely changed as Anurag rightly observes.
Any reality show can keep you hooked for many reasons and one of the major ones are the participants. So it goes without saying that for Super Dancer 2 we see immense talent there to watch out for. During the show promotions Shilpa Shetty had stated that this year the dancers are even more amazing than the last. We do see a glimpse of it as the auditions show the little ones getting on board one by one. From the gorgeously feisty Mishti to the innocent Akash Mittal we have some kids who make it hard for us to keep our eyes off the TV screens. Mishti was hugged and praised by Geeta Ma who went one step ahead to show her the trophy and say that it does await her. The next major thunmbs up for the show is the judges ofcourse. Geeta Ma is genuinely the most nourishing part of the show what with her gentle, encouraging motherly hugs and love. She is a sure hit amongst the kids and surely the best mentor they could ask for. Next is Shilpa who is the energy and charm of the show, she is bubbly, she is cool, she emotional and she is the prankster! She keeps the energy levels on a constant high. Anurag Basu charms one and all with his ability to make us laugh. The camaraderie and the bickering between the three is a sight.
This time too we have a special pair of teacher-student duo where the teacher is a specially abled person. We salute the spirit of this teacher and dance lover who is doing something he loves and doing it with so much perfection and contentment. What was strange is how for a moment the judges managed to make him feel so not a part of the main league, Shilpa could not stand there and face the person and kept moving away crying-which genuinely seemed all wrong!! We so hoped that instead of crying for the person she should have felt proud of him and that would have been a better display of “overwhelmed moment”! She did bent down to salute the person which was great but to make him cry when he should have been just happy was not so sweet! We hope as the show progresses we see this teacher being treated like an equal or more rather than being used for the sympathetic effect!

With the kind of talent present we sure hope the show will be a grand success. However, we desire to see some added material to keep us glued throughout-so we are not just left wondering why the judges are bickering so much!
