Taapsee Pannu is on cloud nine after learning that Pink has won a National Award. We say that the award is well deserved and certainly calls for a celebration. Pink was without a doubt one of the best films in 2016. Taapsee says "I always believed this film has a potential to bag all possible recognition on this planet". Many actor feel the same about the film but not often the same potential is recognised by awarding committees. "and I am happy the National Award jury validated my belief." the actress further added. Pink has won Best film on social issue honour at the 64th National Film Awards.
The crux of Pink was consent. Something that each and every human on this planet needs to know the meaning and importance of. The idea was strongly portrayed through the film, and of course, the credit goes to the entire team, made of talented actors, writers, and filmmaker. "A beautiful team effort that gets applauded," says Taapsee. Pink has also changed the way many men think, in India. We know the social media storm it brought upon its release. Every second tweet was about how the film has taught them something. It also helped Taapsee get achieve not just new heights but a perspective in life. "This film shall forever be etched in my memories. As an artist, it escalated me to greater heights and as a person, it helped me strengthen my belief in my judgement," she concluded. Akshay Kumar has bagged the Best Actor National Film Award for Rustom which was based on the Nanavati case. Sonam Kapoor's Neerja has bagged Best Hindi Film. Best Children Film award has been bagged by Dhanak.
