About a month ago, when Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer, her fans were in a state of disbelief. And while we are still coming to terms with her battle with big C, Ayushmann Khurrana's wife Tahira Kashyap was diagnosed with the deadly disease. Tahira had taken to Instagram stating that she has been detected with breast cancer stage 0 and is presently undergoing treatment for the same. Thereafter, many celebs sent her love and wishes. And now in her conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Tahira revealed minute details about her diagnosis and how it all started.
The 35-year-old filmmaker wrote, "I started feeling heavy in my right breast and silly enough, I was happy about it. I didn’t know what I had done right that the Gods became generous and my one breast decided to grow at the age of 35. But the same wasn’t happening to my left. I waited patiently for a couple of days, waiting for lightning to strike and the miracle to happen for the left one too. No such luck!" Revealing how her husband Ayushmann took this matter seriously and visited the doc, she added, "So, we went to see the doctor, who is the best thing that happened to me in this entire ordeal. He recommended scans and tests, one after the other, that lead to me being detected with high grade DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma IN Situ). Simply put, cancerous malignant cells multiplying in a contained area. This is also called a precancerous or Stage 0 breast cancer."
Tahira also made a special mention about Sonali Bendre's invincible spirit and how she wished to inculcate the same when she read her post on Instagram. Elaborating on her wish to imbibe Sonali's quality, Tahira added, "After reading Sonali Bendre’s post I made a mental note to emulate the high life state and the invincible spirit that she has. Well the time to do the same came much sooner." The mother of two also stated that cancer can happen to anyone and there isn't any particular reason behind it. She pointed out that the unconditional love from near and dear ones helps a person lot when he/she suffers from not-so-pleasant experience. More power to you, Tahira. We are sure that with your strong will and the support from your close ones, you will definitely emerge out be a warrior princess just like Ayushmann mentioned.
