The news we have been waiting for is finally here. The 48-day Tamil Cinema Strike initiated by the Tamil Film Producer's Council on March 1st, with regards to exorbitant fee charged by DSPs has finally come to an end. A meeting was held yesterday with the Tamil Film Producers Council, DSPs and the Tamil Government. It began at 11:30 and went on to till 9pm. The meeting reportedly ended well with various demands being met. Here's what the President of The Tamil Film Producer's council had to say, as per reports on Deccan Chronicle: Despite the Tamil Cinema strike, Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 continues with its shooting schedule – here’s why
"Firstly, a very big thanks to our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the fullest cooperation. The most important aspect is as per our request Tamil Nadu government has ordered all the theatres to go fully transparent from June 1. A G.O. will be passed soon on this. Ticket prices will become flexible depending upon the scale of the film - small and big movies. Each film's ticket price will be decided, as per the film's value and scale." stated Vishal as per the report. With the following demands being met, the Tamil Film Producer's Council is all set to withdraw the strike. Reports suggest, new releases might hit theatres this week itself, on April 20th. Does that mean Rajinikanth's Kaala will hit theatres on April 27th? The movie has already been censored with U/A and asked 14 cuts.
TN Govt's talks ended on positive note. DSP’s agree to reduce prices. #TFPC decide to withdrawal of the strike from tomorrow. Official announcement soon
