The Anand L Rai directorial's worldwide collections are soon to cross the 100-crore mark, making it the fastest earner on 2015
Kangana Ranaut has once again proved that she needs no man to give a blockbuster. Though Tanu Weds Manu Returns stars brilliant actors like R Madhavan and Jimmy Shergill, the film has been labelled as a 'Kangana film' out and out. The romcom which is a sequel to the 2011 film, Tanu Weds Manu, is not only garnering great reviews from critics and appreciation from audiences, but has also set cash registers jingling. The film which earned Rs 72.41 crores (worldwide) in 5 days, is expected to cross Rs 100 crores (worldwide) today, on day six. This would make TWMR the fastest earner of 2015 making it into the 100-crore club.
Looking at Tanu Weds Manu Returns 5-day earning in India (Rs 55.25 crore), popular trade portal Boxofficeindia had earlier reported, "The film is heading for a week of 63-65 crore and Blockbuster success. The film will record the highest first week collections of 2015.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh too tweeted on his Twitter handle yesterday, "Looking at its dream run in India and Overseas, #TanuWedsManuReturns emerges the first BLOCKBUSTER OF 2015. Eyeing ₹ 100 cr in India."
